Facial shell temporary veneers: reducing chances for misunderstanding.

Abstract

With increasing demand for esthetically pleasing porcelain veneers, dentists face the challenge of delivering final restorations that fulfill patients' expectations. Given that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," dentists need a method of determining the cosmetic outcomes that the patient hopes to achieve. This article presents procedures that allow patients to "preview" the veneers before the final restorations are fabricated. This provisional restorative method can clarify patient expectations and reduce the need for costly remakes.
