Porokeratosis of Mibelli in an adult man with involvement of the skin and oral and genital mucous membranes is described. The unusual features in this case were the late onset and pseudoainhum resulting from a porokeratotic lesion in the right foot. The probable cause of pseudoainhum is reviewed.
During 25 years of private practice in East Griqualand I have made a number of observations, mostly on Black patients, which may be of interest to readers, and I would also like to put forward a few speculations about disease as seen in the Black.
A patient with a cosmetically disfiguring swelling of his nipple for many years was found to have factitious mechanical pseudoainhum. The possibility of occult mechanical constriction as the cause of acute or chronic deformities of appendages is emphasized.
