Abstract

The role of the employee health nurse practitioner/case manager in management of the Transitional Duty Program is pivotal to the program's success. Clearly articulated policies and procedures are used to support the Transitional Duty Program. Use of the transitional duty employee can produce financial benefits and improve employee morale. An effective Transitional Duty Program must successfully balance the needs of the employee with the needs of the organization.
