Abstract
PROBLEM: Store-and-forward clinical messaging system was cumbersome and inadequate to support modern technology. SOLUTION: Installation of a secure Web-based system that automates communication among physicians, hospitals, clinical laboratories and other departments. RESULTS: Time savings for office personnel and physicians; access by physicians to clinical information anytime, anywhere; consolidation of lab results into one report; customized form--filing capability. KEY TO SUCCESS: Comprehensive and ongoing training to ensure user acceptance.
