Nurses' attitudes toward PAs.

Abstract

The speed and efficiency with which PAs can see patients and the quality of the health care they can deliver are often greatly determined by the cooperation of the nursing staff with whom they work. To evaluate nurses' attitudes toward PAs, a survey was conducted in two hospitals, one of which employed no PAs. The results of the study indicate that nurses who have experience working with PAs or have an understanding of the role of the PA in the health care system have more positive attitudes toward them than those nurses who do not have such knowledge or experience.
