Abstract

PROBLEM: With increasing demands being placed on limited resources, hospitals are drastically cutting back or eliminating entirely funds for employee continuing education. Considering the advances in technology, the changing regulatory and legislative climates, and the growing need for expertise in handling DRGs and case mixes, more funds should be allocated for continuing education, not less.
