Doctor's Thesis concerning: Pathological changes in the anatomy of marrow in cases of the phosphorus intoxication. This dissertation is not reported in S. A case is described of malignant pericardial mesothelioma of epithelial type. The diagnosis was made on the basis of autopsy. The patient, a 46-year-old construction technician fell ill with symptoms of pericarditis. Initially, it was connected with a flu infection, and later with tuberculosis. During the 11-week-long treatment, a rapidly progressing worsening of health condition was observed. Death was caused by pericardial mesothelioma complicated with embolism of the pulmonary arteries.
846 bronchoscopies were carried out in adults between 1.01.1988 and 31.01.1991. 11 of these were performed in order to remove endobronchial foreign bodies. In 5 cases the foreign bodies were located in the bronchi of the right lung. In 1 case the foreign body was localized in the left lung. All were removed bronchoscopically. The youngest patients had 54 years, the oldest 82. The author discussed the diagnosis and removal of endobronchial foreign bodies. No complications were observed.
In the years 1965-1987 in adult patients 4172 bronchoscopies were done and 26 of them (0.62%) were done in 13 patients with foreign bodies in the tracheobronchial tree. The age of the patients was from 16 to 66 years. The diagnoses and treatment of these cases of foreign body aspiration are discussed. In 10 patients they were present in the right and in 2 in the left bronchus, and in 1 case in the trachea. In 11 cases the foreign body was removed during the bronchoscopy, the endotracheal body was removed surgically and in one case the foreign body was coughed up. No complications were noted after removal of foreign bodies.
Two cases of tracheal+ carcinoma are reported. The first was squamous carcinoma in a male patient aged 51 years, the second case was poorly differentiated microcellular carcinoma in a man aged 48. In both cases cytostatic treatment was given by the method of Hansen and radiotherapy with a linear accelarator (9 MeV). The survival time was 10 and 26 months respectively.
