[Trichoadenoma of Nikolowski--review of four decades and seven new cases].

Trichoadenoma of Nikolowski is a rare, benign, well differentiated, slowly growing tumor of the hair follicle which was first described in 1958 by Nikolowski. 26 cases reported in the literature since then and our seven cases show the following features: a tumor of adults, mostly in the face (57.5%) or buttocks (24.2%), size in general 0.5-1.5 cm, no sex preference. According its morphological differentiation, trichoadenoma is situated between a trichofolliculoma and a trichoepithelioma. The clinical appearance is, misleading, suggesting the diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma or epidermal cyst.

[Surgical treatment of basaliomas with calculated safety margin and control of the histologic borders. Experiences with 355 tumors].

An integrated concept for the surgical treatment of basal cell carcinoma is presented, which is based on individually calculated safety margins and modified microscopically controlled surgery. The individual calculation of the safety margin assumes there is a relationship between the clinically visible tumor diameter and subclinical infiltration; the calculation of the safety margin therefore is based on the size of the clinically visible portion of the basal cell carcinoma. Detection of subclinical infiltration and exclusion of the possibility of subtotal excision are ensured by routine histological control of the margins of the excised specimen. The surgical treatment of basal cell carcinoma presented in this study is considerably less time-consuming than other forms of microscopically controlled surgery. No recurrences have been observed after radical excision of basal cell carcinomas with this method.

[Trichoadenoma (Nikolowski). A clinical and histologic case report].

"Trichoadenoma," which was described by Nikolowsky 25 years ago as an organoid follicular hamartoma, is today an independent and internationally recognized entity. On the basis of observations in one of our own cases, the clinical picture of trichoadenoma, its histogenesis and its position in the periodic system of the follicular nevi and tumors are discussed. In general, it deals with an benign growth, as so far no malignant transformation has been described. No decision has been made so far as to whether the trichoadenoma is a benign follicular tumor, a hamartoma or a follicular nevus.

[Hypereosinophilic syndrome (leukemoid eosinophilia) with a dermal exanthematous vesiculo-bullous manifestation].

The reported disease of a 12 year old girl, characterized by mostly vesico-bullous skin alterations and a marked blood-, bone marrow- and tissue eosinophilia, is ascribed to eosinophilia leukemoid. The problems of separating acute eosinophilia leukemica from other causes of hypereosinophilia will be discussed in detail. Therapy with prednisolon caused regression of the skin alterations and disappearance of the eosinophilia.

[Papillomatous lactic-duct adenoma (pseudoPaget's disease of the mamilla)].

Papillomatosis and adenomatosis of the nipple ducts can be interpreted clinically as Paget's disease. Three patients with subareolar papillomatosis and adenomatosis are described. The name papillary adenoma of the nipple ducts (pseudo-Paget's disease has been proposed. The differentiation between the papillary adenoma of the nipple ducts and the genuine Paget's disease needs histological examination. The differential diagnosis is very important, because local excision of the diseased ducts represents the treatment of choice of the papillary adenoma of the nipple ducts. Radical mastectomy is always necessary in genuine Paget's disease since the adjacent lactiferous ducts are involved by the carcinoma.
