[Penetrating keratoplasty in post-burn corneal leukoma in personal material].

The authors present the surgical technique and the results of treatment of 12 patients with corneal leukoma caused by scalding. In all the cases they performed a perforating keratoplasty. Two years after operation among 7 grafts 5 were transparent. Perforating grafts in leukoma caused by a chemical burn have poor prognosis in contrary to thermic burns.

Adult↗

[Keratoplasty with simultaneous cataract extraction and implantation of an intraocular lens].

In the period of 1985-1992 we performed in our centres 34 operations of a double procedure and 12 operations of a triple procedure. During the observation--from 2 months to 7 years--we obtained favourable results encouraging to connect the corneal grafting with cataract extraction in high myopia and with extracapsular cataract extraction with implantation of an artificial lens in emmetropic eyes. Presented is the appropriate technique of operation and the results obtained.

[Simultaneous extracapsular cataract extraction with trabeculectomy after uveitis].

Simultaneous cataract extraction and anti-glaucoma operation was performed in 11 patients (16 eyes) who suffered uveitis. In all the cases extracapsular extraction and double trabeculectomy were performed according to personal modifications. The cataract was extracted by extracapsular method and subsequently the trabeculectomy was executed at 11 and 1 o'clock. Normalization of the IOP was attained in 13 eyes, 3 eyes needed application of Timolol. The results encourage to further use of this procedure.

[Anterior vitrectomy in the treatment of post-traumatic defects of the eye].

The authors analyse the results of 116 operations in which they performed anterior vitrectomy using the Berkeley's and Opticon vitrectomes. Operations of this type have been performed in cases of traumatic cataract, subluxated and luxated lenses. One removed also post-inflammatory membranes and the vitreous from the anterior chamber and from the area of the wound. The functional and anatomical results have to be acknowledged as satisfactory.
