[From the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) to the Salzburg Thematic Construction Test. Remarks on an overdue test revision].

In autumn 1985 the "Thematische Gestaltungstest Salzburg", which is a further development of the well-known "Thematic Apperception Test" (TAT) H. A. Murray's, has been published by Beltz. The revision of this test includes not only a modification of the partly already antiquated pictures, but also a fundamental reorientation of the theoretical concept and of the system of analysis developed by Revers. The authors summarize the essential ideas of this test revision and explain the conclusions to be drawn for the discussion of the projection concept in psychodiagnostics. The article also displays a synopsis of the handbook for the TGT-Salzburg, which has been published together with the test.

[Boredom--symptom of emotional stunting].

Contrary to the fundamental importance of emotions for all psychological phenomena and functions, academy psychology in the study of the relationship between emotion and cognition shows a neglect for the phenomena of emotion. Indirectly, apathy shows that losing the potential for experiencing emotions is followed by a loss of reality and self identity. The scientific onesidedness of intellectualism with it's neglect of the reality of feeling supports the public suppression of emotionality. The reality of emotion, put aside in the name of science, show up as an urging problem in depth psychology and psychotherapy. The desolation of emotion: the death of the self in the time, revealed in boredom, manifests the "lost time", the loss of personal history. A main concern of all psychotherapy seems to be a regaining of the time unity of the biographical "Gestalt" of personal identity; in other words the client is led into a learning process that gives him the opportunity to deal effectively with his emotions again.

[Time problem in Freud's psychoanalysis].

The influence of Freuds' work on the formation of psychological theory is especially based on the biographical system of Psychoanalysis. The aspect of historical order distinguishes his system of theoretical relations. The inspection of Freuds' scriptures shows that he through all his research was confronted with the problem of psychological time (in opposite to the term of "physical time"). The contrast between the time of existence and the identity of person clarifies the principle of the lack of temporality of repressed experiences as denied personal history.
