Nephrogenic metaplasia (adenomatoid tumors) of bladder.

Two cases of rare nephrogenic metaplasia of the bladder (adenomatoid bladder tumor) support the theory that these tumors originate as an atypical metaplastic response of urothelium to chronic infection or irritation. That these may also represent mesonephric or mesothelial choristomas is considered. Although benign, they may recur. Therapy should consist of antibiotics and transurethral resection or fulguration.

Urethral adenocarcinoma (possibly originating in the glands of Littre).

Adenocarcinoma involving the bulbomenbranous urethra is a rare disease. This disease is describe in a 30-year-old man and the surgical management is detailed. The adenocarcinoma described seems to have arisen from the periurethral glands of littre. Despite the radical nature of the tumor excision, it was possible to spare the distal penis in order to achieve a more normal appearance of the external genitalia.

Long-term radiographic changes of the kidney following the ileal ureter operation.

A long-term retrospective evaluation was done on the preoperative and postoperative radiographic studies from patients who had undergone the ileal ureter operation. The comparative studies demonstrated decreased or stable pelviocaliceal dilatation, no measurable parenchymal loss, frequent high pressure vesico-ileac reflux and decreased number of renal calculi. Radiographically there was no evidence of renal morphological deterioration.
