[Modification of the cellular and vascular reactions in the inflammatory focus by luteotropic hormone].

Luteotropic hormone considerably alters the dynamics of experimental inflammation. A decrease of microvascular bed activation and the density of macrophage population are observed at early stages of the inflammation. Inhibition of fibroblast proliferative activity and acceleration of their differentiation are revealed during the period of reparation. The formation of the capsule went more intensely, but collagen synthesis was inhibited and fibrous tissue formed more slowly. The results obtained prove principal possibility of inflammation regulation by means of mediators and metabolites of the stress-limiting systems.

Animals

[Treatment of cicatricial flexion contractures of the fingers].

The article discusses the results of treatment of 152 patients with cicatrical flexion contractures of the fingers consequent upon mechanical, thermal and gunshot injuries. The authors suggest their own classification of cicatricial contractures of the fingers according to the extent of the cicatricial process and restriction of the volume of movements and impairment of the grasp. Various methods of treatment were applied depending on the type of the pathological process. Analusis of the late-term results showed that the distraction method has advantages over the traditional skin plastics methods in the treatment of stable combined forms of contractures.

Adult

[The dynamic modification of aseptic inflammation with sodium oxybutyrate].

The oxybuturate sodium influence on the vessel and cells dynamics in the source of aseptic inflammation was studied. It was shown that oxybuturate sodium injection (100 mg/kg) before 30 min and after 2 and 4 hours of inflammation onset leads to suppression of microvessel reaction, reduction of macrophagic infiltrate density, decrease of macrophagic phase duration and the earliest perfection of inflammation in the whole.

Animals

[Present-day concept of subsurface osteosynthesis].

Consolidation of fractured fragments, provided that they are in contact with each other and immobilized, takes place due to growing of osteons from one fractured fragment to the other one. Necessary condition for consolidation in accordance with the given pattern is the action of force along the axis of the fractured fragments only when transverse and rotational forces have been relaxed. Fixatives act as periosteal and endosteal corns. Screws, plates, intramedullary nails are used for stable fixation in accordance with special methods. The experience of osteosynthesis application in accordance with AO in 78 patients indicates the necessity of careful execution, sparing technique, rigorous indication and, nevertheless, osteosynthesis considerably accelerates the rehabilitation of patients with fractures.

Bone Nails

[Surgical tactics in fresh injuries of ligaments of the knee joint].

Experience with the clinic in operative treatment of fresh damage of the ligaments of the knee joint (90 cases) is analysed. The authors dwell on the problems of diagnosis and the choice of the surgical tactics in isolated and multiple injuries to the ligaments. It is shown that operative restoration of the damaged ligaments in the earliest period after the trauma makes it possible to normalize the relationship of the injured elements. Good results were produced--complete stability and restoration of the function of the joint allows the suggested tactics to be recommended for wide introduction into traumatological practice.

Humans

[Use of controlled abacterial medium in the treatment of wound infection of the hand].

The authors inform about their experience of employing controlled abacterial medium in 30 patients with severe forms of wound infection of the hand which developed after open injuries of the hand. There was a 3-fold reduction of the periods of preparation of the suppurative wounds of the hand for plastic closure and a 10% increase of the area of grafting of skin autotransplants.
