To a lot of 134 TB patients, admitted for different periods in our pneumology department, a questionnaire with 8 simple questions was applied respecting the sociologic enquiry method. The analyse of the results allowed the identification of one group of 30% of patients who could become noncompliant to the treatment because of lacking of elementary sanitary knowledge and of a second group of 8-10% of patients requiring psychologic support.
The paper deals with 8 cases of different forms of bacterial respiratory infections (bronchiectasis, pleuropneumonia, tuberculosis), in which humoral immune deficits were noted: 2 dysgammaglobulinemia with IgA absence, 3 hypogammaglobulinemia with IgG deficit as well as IgA and IgM absence, 2 hypogammaglobulinemia with IgG and IgM deficit and IgA absence, and 1 hypogammaglobulinemia with IgA absence and IgM deficit. Stress is laid on the indications given by the antibody titer research, the pleural exudate hypoproteinemia being also added to those already known. A correct chemotherapy associated with the substitution treatment proved to by efficient.
Testings were carried out with one unit of PPD in 2865 children aged between 1 and 6 years in the course of 1972 and with two units of PPD in 2822 children aged between 1 and 6 years in the course of 1973. The aspect of the histograms of the two groups was clearly different, the one corresponding to 2 units, tested children showing a more marked bi-modal aspect due to the higher number of reactions of 10-11 mm in diameter (7,5%). The data resulting from the processing of the histograms, of the infecting density of the environment and of the median diameters of the reactions were not conclusive. Between the children tested with one unit 6 cases were detected (5 of which with active tuberculosis), while between those tested with 2 units 22 cases were found (one of wich with an active form of tuberculosis). Among the children tested with one unit of PPD contamination sources could be detected in 100% of the cases and in those tested with 2 units in 51,2% of the cases. The methodology based on the exclusive examination of hyperallergics to one unit of PPD and of their contacts, as compared with the examination of all positive reactions to 2 units and of their contacts has a resolution ability which is higher for an amount of work roughly 30 times less, but in the detection campaign it may omit sick children and contaminators that have not been known until the investigation. The author suggests for the examination of all positive cases with reactions to 2 units of PPD and of their contacts.
The results were analysed, of the results obtained by the associated treatment with rifampicin and etambutol 2/7 for at least 6 months in 53 patients with silico-tuberculosis and positive bacteriologic tests. Only two of the patients in the group were in the 1-st stage of silicosis while half of the patients had cavities. Also 50% of the patients had strains showing resistance to various drugs. Only five of the patients did not receive chemotherapy before the start of the study. Immediate favourable bacteriological results were noted in 84.9% of the cases and late positive results represented 54.7%, while radiologic improvement was noted in 33.9% of the cases. The percentage of good results was higher in patients without cavities but it was not influenced by the stage of silicosis development.

In view of evaluating the global efficiency of the epidemiologic investigation in relation to its area an analysis was carried out of 127 investigations involving 1 252 tb contacts. The contacts were classified in three groups: intrafamilial and intradomiciliary, intrafamilial but outside the home, and extrafamilial and outside the home; the results of the examinations were compared between them on the one hand and with the proportion of allergic children (51.6%) and the instantaneous prevalence of bacilli eliminating cases (0.31%) on the other hand. These were obtained in an area with a high endemic ratio of tuberculosis, following integral biological and radiophotographic case-finding. Children who were tb contacts, belonging to the first group also included the highest proportion of allergies (48.3%) while in the other two groups the number of allergic children was similar to that of allergic children in the locality with a high endemic ratio of tuberculosis. The radiophotographic examination of adults who were contacts of tuberculous patients showed that the lowest proportion of tuberculous patients with active tuberculosis (0.4%), which was found in the third group, was still above the instantaneous prevalence of bacilliferic patients from the area with high ratio of endemic tuberculosis. In conclusion, the present technical structure of epidemiological investigations corresponds to the actual level of the endemy and no group of contacts can be excluded from the investigation.
