[Magnifying Larynxstroboscopie (author's transl)].

A procedure for stroboscopic observation of vocal cord vibrations by means of a magnifying laryngoscope is reported. In addition, the clinical problems which can be managed successfully by this procedure are discussed.

[Nuclear medical techniques in diagnostics of urological diseases (author's transl)].

We report on the evaluation of 2170 kidney scintigrams and isotope nephrograms under the aspect of a urological radiodiagnostic of the kidney. The possibilities of a nuclear medical demonstration for kidney tumours are discussed. Furthermore we refer to the importance of the isotope nephrogram to recognize intermitting obstructions of the ureters.

[Angiomas and angioma-like changes of the bronchial arteries (author's transl)].

Hyperplastic changes of the bronchial arteries may take the form of a racemose arteriovenous angioma or result from chronic bronchitis. Clinically, recurrent haemoptysis is a striking feature occurring in otherwise fit patients. The two forms can be distinguished by bronchial arteriography because of the difference in the appearance of the vessels. In the one condition there are circumscribed areas of arterial and venous, vascular abnormalities, in the other there is vascular hyperplasia, which is less clearly circumscribed. In both forms, broncho-pulmonary, i.e. arterio-venous anastomoses can be demonstrated; these may be considered as the cause of the haemoptyses.

[Galactography of the female breast (author's transl)].

Breast lesions were diagnosed in 1518 patients among 8432 who had had mammography [ 19%]. In 324 there was the characteristic appearance of "secretory disease" . Additional uni- or bilateral galactography was performed in 458 womenbecause of breast secretion. A normal milkduct system was found in 29.6% of them; ductalectasia with a lumen above 3 mm diameter was present in 14.6%. The most common cause ofsecretions was small cysts as part of a small-cystic mammary fibrosis or fibrocysticdisease of the breast [ 32.6%]. Intraductal proliferation was present in 21% of allgalactograms, occult carcinoma in 3 [ 0.7%]. It would seem that a secreting breast isnot as common an early symptom of mammary carcinoma as sometimes stated. The most commoncomplication of galactography was mastitis [ more or less severe], almost always re-sponding to oxyphenbutazone administration.
