[The endoscopic assessment of the effect of ranitidine and pirenzepine on the manifestations of the gastropathy induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory preparations].

Two antiulcer drugs, ranitidine and pirenzepine belonging to blockers of H2-receptors and selective M-cholinoblockers, respectively, were compared by efficacy against erosive and ulcer lesions in the upper gastrointestinal mucosa. A total of 62 rheumatics were examined. In patients treated by nonsteroid antiinflammatory drugs irrespectively of the mode of their administration the highest response was shown by ranitidine while pirenzepine efficacy proved poor.

[Use of fluoroquinolones in rheumatology].

The efficacy and tolerance of 3 fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin, pefloxacin, lomefloxacin) were studied in 157 patients with rheumatic diseases concurrent with infection-induced abnormalities. Infection cure was achieved in 123 (78.6%) patients, as evidenced by clinical, microbiological, and serological studies. The tolerance of fluoroquinolones was regarded as good, satisfactory, and poor in 114 (72.6%), 37 (23.6%), and 6 (3.8%) patients, respectively. All representative drugs of the fluoroquinolones series produced typical adverse reactions. The authors consider it expedient to make further clinical studies to test the optimal treatment regimens and to expand indications for the use of fluoroquinolones in this group of patients.

Adolescent

[Vasculopathy in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and the antiphospholipid syndrome].

Clinicomorphological examination covered 100 patients with confirmed SLE: 79 with concomitant APS (group 1), 21 free of APS (group 2). In group 1 thrombolytic complications occurred in 75%, in group 2- in 13%. The recurrences were more frequent in group 1. Overall percentage of arterial and venous thromboses was approximately the same. According to biopsy and autopsy 2 kinds of morphological changes were found: typical for SLE and APS. Morphological specificity of APS manifested with proliferative and thrombotic changes in both arteries and veins.

Adolescent

[A multicenter evaluation of efficacy and tolerance in the local treatment with dolgit cream of patients with osteoarthrosis].

A 2-week clinical trial of cream dolgit efficacy and tolerance in 76 patients with primary osteoarthritis in 8 rheumatological centers showed this preparation to reduce local pain syndrome in 70.1%, palpation pain sensitivity in 79.2%, joint swelling in 75.5% of patients. Unwanted reactions in the form of skin itch at the site of application were reported in 7.8% of cases.
