[The immunological effectiveness of small doses of diphtheria and tetanus anatoxins in the revaccination of children with allergy-altered reactivity and adults].

The possibility of decreasing the content of antigens in adsorbed diphtheria-tetanus toxoid, used for the booster immunization of children with allergically altered responsiveness and adults, is shown. Diphtheria toxoid in doses of 1-2.5 Lf and tetanus toxoid in doses of 1-2.5 binding units possessed sufficiently high immunological effectiveness in combination with low reactogenicity and good tolerance. In 6-12 months after booster immunization with decreased doses of toxoids 100% of children with allergy of different character and, respectively, 86-94% and 95% of adults have developed protective levels of antibodies to diphtheria and tetanus.

Adult

[A trial to decrease hepatitis A morbidity in Dzerzhinsk, Gorki Province].

The results of experience in the comparative evaluation of the preseasonal immunoglobulin prophylaxis in two towns of the Gorki Province are presented. The work substantiates the economic and epidemiological effectiveness of immunoglobulin prophylaxis at the territory, relatively safe with respect to hepatitis A, under the conditions of its realization in the year of the predicted rise of morbidity, the timely organization of immunoglobulin prophylaxis (from July to the first half of October) and the coverage of "organized" children, exceeding 90%.

[Etiological structure of viral hepatitis in the area about one of the cities in Gorki Province].

The etiological structure of viral hepatitides (VH) in one of the towns of the Gorky region was studied with the use of specific methods for diagnosing hepatitis A (detection of IgM to hepatitis A virus) and hepatitis B (detection of HBsAg in the passive hemagglutination test). The study revealed that hepatitis A was the major nosological from in the structure of VH among children and adults in the area under survey, which was documented by the detection of IgM to hepatitis A virus. The form, second in importance among VH cases, was hepatitis B. The ratio of these two forms of VH was determined by the epidemiological situation in the area. The proportion of hepatitis B cases increased at the period between epidemics. Nondifferentiated hepatitis constituted 6.8% of all cases of sporadic hepatitis among adults. In 90% of cases clinical diagnosis coincided with the serological one.
