Monkey and mouse cells producing simian virus 40 small t antigen in the absence of clearly detectable intact or truncated large T antigens were subjected to indirect immunofluorescence and biochemical cell compartment analyses. Results revealed specific immunofluorescence and small t polypeptide in both the nucleus and cytoplasm of these cells.
77 regular and 45 special education teachers rated how disturbing various students' behaviors would be when working with the students in the classroom setting. Comparison of the two groups of teachers' ratings showed that the regular teachers reported more disturbance than special education teachers on two of the scales of the Teacher Checklist of School Behavior, Aggressive Interaction and Teacher Avoidance.

Approximately 100 human fibroblast-like cell lines derived from the upper arms of members of the Baltimore Longitudinal Study have been deposited in the Aging Cell Bank at the Institute for Medical Research, Camden, N.J. These cell lines were derived from individuals ranging from 29 to 96 years in age. The in vitro lifespan of each culture has been estimated by the distribution of colony sizes. The availability of cell lines of known proliferative potential from donors of various ages should provide an important new resource for cellular aging studies.
To associate amphetamine with a location and a flavor, rats were given amphetamine injections and then confined for 20 min in one side of a shuttlebox with access to a flavored solution; on control trials with saline injections, they were confined for 20 min on the opposite side with a different flavor. Three groups of rats were placed in the shuttlebox either 5 min, 120 min, or 240 min after the injections. In subsequent choice tests, the 5 min and 120 min groups preferred the side and avoided the flavor associated with amphetamine; the 240 min group was indifferent between the sides and the flavors.
Seven suppressor mutations have been isolated in Aspergillus nidulans by coreversion of alleles in physiologically unrelated genes namely, alX, sB, alcA, putative structural genes for allantoinase, sulphate permease and alcohol dehydrogenase respectively. The suppressors are allele specific, gene unspecific. Those described map in four loci, suaA, B, C, D. suaA and suaB are on linkage group III, suaC and suaD on VII. suaB111, suaD103 and suaD108 are semi-dominant in their suppression of alX4 and sB43, suaA101, suaA105 and suaC10. are recessive and have a pleiotropic effect on morphology. SuaC109 is cold sensitive for growth as is sua115, an unmapped mutation on linkage group III which is similar in morphology to suaC109. The two mutations, suaA101 and suaA105 have different spectra of suppression and morphologies. suaA105 weakly suppresses alX4 and sB43 whereas suaA101 strongly suppresses these and alcA125. suaD103 and suaD108 have the same spectrum of suppression. The properties of these suppressors are consistent with their being informational suppressors are consistent with their being informational suppressors of the nonsense type.

Perianal mucinous adenocarcinoma, also known as anal duct or anal gland carcinoma, is a rare tumor usually associated with chronic fistulae-in-ano. Whether the tumor occurs primarily and the fistula is a secondary manifestation, or whether this tumor arises in a chronic fistulous tract is debatable. Diagnosis can be made only by open deep biopsy of the buttock mass, and, due to the low grade histologic appearance of the malignancy, an incorrect diagnosis is frequently made. Treatment is abdominoperineal resection with wide removal of the buttock mass.
