A technique is described for reinforcing and sealing a microvascular anastomosis by using a detached vessel segment as a cuff around the anastomosis. This may allow fewer microvascular sutures to be used. This would allow a simpler, less traumatic, and more rapid repair and may allow "more vessels to be repaired by more people."

A method of fingertip reconstruction using a deepithelialized cross-finger flap in "jam roll" fashion is described. The technique has found relatively frequent indications.

Substantial relief in the treatment of painful terminal neuromata can be obtained by microsurgically "capping" the exposed nerve end with a free nerve graft after resection of the neuroma.
It is contended that, contrary to previous beliefs, many older patients can benefit from an orthodox cosmetic rhinoplasty but they usually require a nasal "skin lift" procedure in addition. This refinement is described and illustrated.
A de-epithelialised cross-finger flap procedure for repair of dorsal finger defects is described. It is safe and simple and is considered to have distinct advantages over other available methods of flap repair of the dorsum of the finger. These advantages are discussed.
A 5 yr follow-up of a method of breast reconstruction is presented. It is considered the operation has stood the test of time.

A method of reconstruction of the lower eyelid is described, using a post-auricular composite graft of skin and cartilage. It is a relatively simple one-stage operation. The cartilage replaces the missing tarsal plate and supports the overlying skin. Clinical observations confirm a remarkable nutritional relationship between the overlying soft tissues and the underlying cartilage. This technique has important potential applications elsewhere in the body.
