[Treatment of the infected pseudoarthrosis of the tibia by the Harmon method].

The principles of treatment of tibial pseudoarthroses complicated by skin and soft tissue loss with the use of cancellous bone grafts from posterolateral approach to the tibia by Harmon method were discussed. The detailed surgical technique was presented. Management of 3 patients that resulted in bone union was described.

Adult

[Effect of age on the activity of hepatic mixed function oxidases in female rats].

Female Wistar rats aged 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 and 540 days were tested. The rough and smooth microsomes fraction of the liver were tested for protein, cytochromes P-450 and b5 contents as well as for NADPH-cytochrome c reductase, NADH-cytochrome b5 reductase and two monooxygenases activity. Cytochrome P-450 and b5 contents and NADH-cytochrome b5 reductase activity were increasing up to the age of 60 but aniline hydroxylase--up to the age of 15 days. NADPH-cytochrome c reductase activity exhibited a gradual decreasing trend with age. In senescent animals (540 days) the contents of cytochromes and monooxygenases activity were lower but NADPH-cytochrome c reductase activity was higher, as compared to young rats.

Aging

Evaluation of localization and intensity of the reactions of succinic dehydrogenase, NADH tetrazole reductase and lactate dehydrogenase in developing rat testis. I. Physiological conditions.

The localization, intensity, and character of the enzymatic reactions of the following enzymes responsible for the oxygenic and nonoxygenic respiration were under examination: succinic dehydrogenase (SDH), NADH tetrazole reductase (NADH-R), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). The features of the enzymatic reactions enumerated above were tested in male gonads of the rats on their 1st, 4th, 7th, 15th, 30th, 45th, 60th, 90th d and 1.5 year of post-fetal life. It was estimated on the examined reactions that their metabolic maturity in the gonad was reached on the 45th d of the rat's life.

Aging

Evaluation of localization and intensity of the reactions of succinic dehydrogenase, NADH tetrazole reductase, and lactate dehydrogenase in developing rat testis. II: After cadmium chloride treatment.

The described experiments showed the influence of a single dose of cadmium chloride (1.5 mg CdCl2/kg body mass) applied intraperitoneally on the activity of succinic dehydrogenase (SDH), NADH tetrazole reductase (NADH-R), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in the rat's male gonad. It was ascertained that disturbances of the reaction begin to occur in the 7th d of post-fetal life: they increase gradually, first at the circumference and then the centre of the organ reaching their maximum in 1.5 year old rats.

Animals

[Effect of N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea on the liver ultrastructure. I. Activity of the cytochrome P-450-dependent hepatic monooxygenase system].

Effects of N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea (ENU) on cytochrome P-450-dependent monooxygenase system activity and the ultrastructure of the liver cells are examined. Significant changes in the structure of mitochondria, smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus are observed, particularly in 3rd zone of acinus. Cytochrome P-450 and monooxygenase activity shows decrease, but cytochrome b5 and NADH-cytochrome b5 reductase activity increases.

Aminopyrine N-Demethylase

Morphometric studies of development of the rat testis under physiological conditions and after CdCl2 poisoning.

The morphometrical data of the rat testis were studied between the 1st day and 1.5 year of life under physiological conditions and after intraperitoneal injection of a single dose of cadmium chloride (1.5 mg CdCl2/kg body weight). Under physiological conditions three main period of development occur: between the 1st and 30th day of life, between the 30th and 45th day of life, and after the 45th day of life. The greatest changes after the injection of cadmium were noticed in the period between the 15th and 30th day of life. The periphery of the organ was the first to suffer severe damage.
