[Home Care--configurating the care model and joining different interests/needs in the care sector].

This study aims to analyze a private Home Care service from the perspective of the formation of the Care Model. Focus groups and semistructured interviews were chosen as instruments for data collection. Interviews were held among middle-level nursing workers and service coordinators. Empiric data were organized by means of the Collective Subject Discourse methodology. It was disclosed that the recognition of the constituent elements of the care model among the social agents involved in the project is essential to negotiate, unite and instrumentalize the possibility to attend different interests. Another factor that stood out was the power of Home Care to be a tool for reviewing the health/illness/care process concept and, thus, for promoting the incorporation of values that lead to behavioral changes, moving towards a care model that is committed to the establishment of a welcoming relation, characterized by commitment and responsibility for the health of clients.

[Health needs according to civil society and the state].

This study focused on the health needs of a population covered by a primary healthcare center (PHC) in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The overall objective was to investigate the perceived health needs as the object of health work. The study thus identified and analyzed what residents recognize as health needs, as well as what the PHC workers grasp as the object. The PHC workers and local residents were the research subjects. A semi-structured interview was used for data collection and thematic analysis for grasping the reality. The empirical categories identified were: need for state presence, social reproduction needs, and need for political participation recognized by local residents as health needs. The analysis indicated that the PHC work has operated without recognizing the residents' needs. Overcoming such gaps may be possible if and to the extent that work processes are implemented according to the recognition of health needs, respecting the concept of determination in the health-disease process and the right to health as a political gain.

[Team work in a family health care program: the team process concept and operational teams].

This work is a theoretical revision of team work in a family Health Care Program. We define team work in the health care field as a relationship network among people, power, knowledge, affection, and wishes, when there is a possibility of identifying group processes. We deal with concepts of Operational Group from the Argentinean School, which might help health professionals to get training in team work. We have visible (spoken) and invisible (unspoken) tasks within teams, which are modified and need to be combined and known. Communication, learning, the feeling of belonging, the atmosphere, the actions' pertinence for the team's purpose and power relations may help the team to get to know and analyze each other and to build a team. External supervision may help the team to turn itself into an operational team, working towards a life care project.

[The health municipalization process from the perspective of the human being--nursing worker in the basic health network].

This descriptive study aimed to identify and to analyze present transformations in the municipalization process, according to the perception of nursing auxiliaries working in the basic health network in Marília-SP, Brazil. Data collected by means of semi-structured interviews were organized in two thematic groups: the technological incorporation in the basic network and, particularly, the broadening of access. In spite of the great advances identified by the group of interviewees in relation to the technological incorporation and to the population's greater access to the health system it cannot be affirmed that the workers appropriated the political and ideological project under construction in the municipal district.

[Critical reflexive education of nurses from the nursing undergraduate program offered by the School of Medicine of Marília - FAMEMA].

The study aimed at learning with the undergraduate students enrolled at the Nursing Undergraduate Program offered by FAMEMA about how they are building their education with the purpose of forming a critical reflexive professional as well as identifying the differences perceived by the students with respect to the logic of the Pedagogical Political Plan. The subjects were students finishing the fourth year of the undergraduate program. Authors used the focal group and semi-structured interviews as research techniques. The empirical data were organized according to the technique of Collective Subject Discourse followed by thematic analysis. Authors evidenced that the students were able to elaborate a critique with respect to the Pedagogical Plan, discriminating and perceiving the problems, the changes that occurred and the conflicts generated in a Project of this nature. When they experience reality, students also have conflicts that permeate the relationships they build in their lives, questioning nurses' role, reflecting about their ethical posture, the basis for the argumentation and support to their practice working as a team.

[The critical-reflexive teaching-learning process].

This study aimed at showing how the learning process is being built in the FAMEMA nursing course and identifying the different aspects of this process perceived by students based on the logics of the political-pedagogical project. The subjects of the research were fourth-grade students in the course. Research techniques used were focus groups and a semi-structured interview. Empirical material was organized according to the collective subject discourse technique, followed by the application of content analysis in the thematic modality. In the analysis of empiric material, it was highlighted that learning occurs in a process with successive approaches, throughout life, being graduation the beginning of a process. They experienced things in which they shared knowledge, conflicts, group work and teamwork.

[Health services management challenges in theory and practice].

This article deals with the management of health services and organizations, focusing on knowledge as an action resource, which turns into a source of autonomy, authority and power for subjects in the context of their practices. The movement towards the consolidation of the Single Health System (SUS) gives rise to the challenge of "adapting" health workers to its principles and guidelines, establishing instruments such as service management with a view to the reorganization of the health work process. In hospital management, the concept of "ambience" was adopted to understand and reorganize hospital functionality, highlighting the physical and technological space, in view of the fact that these elements cannot be constituted without the intermedation of the social and affectual.

[Group for the re-education of eating habits: a holistic experience in health from the family perspective].

This study describes the experience of the development of a family educational program to develop healthier eating habits. The program can enable the population to evaluate its quality of life. It can be justified if we consider obesity as a risk factor for the aging population in Brazil and the unpreparedness of the health system and society regarding this subject. The present work, which lasted two months, was carried out in a micro-area of the municipal district of Ribeirão Preto with groups of around 13 people. Most of the participants were women who cooperated with the making of healthier menus. In order to give continuity to the process, maintenance groups were created. This program can contribute to self-care and self-commitment, giving support to healthier life styles.

[The use of home inquiry as a tool to follow up health actions in microareas -- analyzing the vaccination status of children under 1 year of age].

One of the strategies on which local health services rely in order to follow up activities is home inquiry, a source of important information concerning the access to services and knowledge regarding the population's health conditions. This work aims at analyzing the use of inquiries as an instrument for diagnosis and follow-up of the vaccinal situation of children under one year old in a micro area of the City of Ribeirão Preto-SP, Brazil. In the first semester of 1998, 106 families were interviewed by using a family record. Nine children under 01 year old (4.35% of the population) were identified, of whom 4 (44.44%) presented vaccination delay. It was later identified that 8 children presented an updated record and that information was not obtained in only one case. It can be verified that home inquiry is a viable strategy to follow up and evaluate the care delivered, which, in the case of this study, concerns vaccination actions, so as to efficiently and effectively determine the directions to be taken in health care in local level.
