The article presents the findings of computer-aided tomography in 6 patients with brain concussion. In 27% of the cases the symptom-complex was accompanied by the development of brain plethora or hydrocephalus which was reflected in changes in the cerebral and densitometry characteristics. The objective nature of such changes was confirmed by the factorial analysis of the computer-aided tomographic and clinical symptoms as well as the presence of correlation between them. The authors has devised a linear regression model of the expected mean roentgen density of the white matter with regard to the degree of its atrophy. It has been shown that computer-aided tomography provides the possibility of identifying the pathological changes that develop following a mild craniocerebral injury and of predicting the outcome of their pathogenetic therapy.

85 cases of renal-cell carcinoma are studied histologically, cytologically and electron-microscopically. Morphological variant was determined according to the classification of N. A. Krayevsky et al. Histological and cytological variants of renal-cell carcinoma, differences of the degree of their differentiation are shown. Electron-microscopically the cell types characteristic of clear-cell and granular-cell variants of a different degree of differentiation are distinguished. Similarity of cell ultrastructure in granular-cell, sarcoma-like and glandular tumour variants is found. The ultrastructural features of nephrocytes and renal tubules in the form of the accumulation of microvilli, cytoplasmic membrane invaginations, desmosomes, basal membrane fragments which are seen as the markers of the tumour organospecificity were preserved in all variants of renal-cell carcinoma studied.

In the examination of 60 patients, analysis of electrocardiograms with application of nitroglycerin, potassium chloride and obsidan was of definite significance along with other clinical, laboratory, and instrumental methods of study including selective coronarography. The effectiveness of treatment depending on the patients' age, the duration of the disease, and the use of sex hormones is analysed. It is shown that the number of cases with stable clinical improvement and complete normalization of the electrocardiogram increases significantly when sex hormones are included in the schedule of combined therapy.

An electrochemical cell for simultaneous potentiometric and spectrophotometric measurements of solutions of various substances is described. A schematic diagram of the cell, its advantages, method of use, and possible areas of application are discussed. The cell is suggested to be used for electrochemical potentiometric redox titration of leghemoglobin and electrochemical reduction of organic reductants commonly used in biochemical research.

In experiments on 5--7- and 16-day rat puppies with acute lesion of the spinal cord, by means of monosynaptic tests, studies have been made of the effect of DOPA on reciprocal inhibition of antagonist muscles. Test stimuli were applied to n. tibialis, conditioned ones--to n. peroneus. It was shown that the pattern of the effects depends on the action of the drug on the magnitude of the initial monosynaptic reflex used as a test. It the latter was initially inhibited, the conditioned stimulation resulted within the first 1-8 msec not in the development of postsynaptic inhibition, but in evident facilitation, which was longer in 5--7-day animals. The level of presynaptic inhibition was somewhat lower than the initial one, but exhibited longer duration. In case of facilitation of a control test after DOPA injection, configuration of reciprocal inhibition curves did not significantly differ from that obtained before administration of the drug.
