[Morphological structure of oral liquid--diagnostic possibilities].

This research has revealed the morphological structure of the oral liquid obtained from 187 adolescents on the basis of self-organized process occurring during the phase transition "liquid-solid". The results of the research have been compared with the data obtained in the course of dental checkup. The parameters of the oral liquid morphological structure in case of healthy periodontium have been identified and the markers of pathology caused by periodontal tissue inflammation and caries have been determined.

Bio-liquid morphological analysis.

Information is presented on the new scientific line in medicine and biology: bio-liquid morphology. The interdisciplinary character of the given research area is emphasized. The problems and prospects of bio-liquid morphological analysis development both in applied and fundamental aspects are discussed.

Body Fluids↗

[Fundamental bases of biological rhythms].

The data and theoretical points given in the paper mould basically new views of molecular relationships underlying the function of living beings and biological rhythms. The authors' procedure for wedge biological fluid dehydration reveals a wide autowave spectrum that is clearly detectable when the fluid passes into the solid phase. A hypothesis of the autowave interaction of biologically active molecules is forwarded, which considers autowaves as a basis of organization of physiological and pathological processes occurring in the body.

[On rhinophyma and its cytological characteristics].

Two cases of rhinophyma are described. Clinical and cytological features are specified. Rhinophyma can be diagnosed cytologically by hyperplastic cells of sebaceous glands. However, cytological diagnosis should also take into consideration clinical picture of the disease as the above cells can be encounted also in hyperplasia and/or adenoma of the sebaceous gland as well as basalioma with sebaceous differentiation.

[Mechanism of the heterogeneity of a staphylococcal population with respect to methicillin resistance].

The study of the staphylococcal population heterogeneity with respect to methicillin resistance by 2 methods revealed different numbers of the resistant cells in the population. Thus, when the microbial suspension was plated on an agarized medium with methicillin (50 gamma/ml), only 0.0007--0.0005 per cent of the resistant cells were found. When the colonies were replicated from a medium without methicillin to a medium containing methicillin (50 gamma/ml), 84.3--97.3 per cent of the resistant microbial cells were found in the population of the same strains. The main mechanism in the heterogeneity of the staphylococcal population with respect to methicillin resistance was impairement of the phenotype manifestation of the antibiotic resistance under definite conditions.

[Method of determining the sensitivity of Staphylococcus aureus to methicillin].

The effect of the incubation temperature, i.e. 37 and 30 degrees and the effect of addition of 5 per cent of sodium chloride to the nutrient medium was studied with respect to the results of sensitivity determination of staphylococci to methicillin by 3 methods, such as serial dilutions in liquid and solid media and replica method applied to separate colonies. With the use of all 3 methods incubation of the samples at a temperature of 30 degrees increased the rate of staphylococcal cultures resistant to methicillin. Addition of sodium chloride to the solid nutrient medium increased the level of detecting methicillin resistant cultures in the samples incubated at a temperature of 37 degrees and decreased it in the samples incubated at 30 degrees.

[A morphological pattern of the aqueous humor in the evaluation of pathophysiological mechanisms of involutional cataract genesis].

The method of wedge-type dehydration was made use of to study the specificity of the systemic structure of 496 samples of aqueous humor obtained in the course of surgical interventions in 62 patients for senile cataract. The results were analyzed with respect to a cataract stage and it was established that the systemic structure of aqueous humor reflects different-phase impairments in the system of the intermolecular interaction of aqueous-humor components, which is mainly related with activated processes of organic products' mineralization as observed in senile cataract progression.

[Cytologic analysis of benign neoplasms and some pseudotumors of otorhinolaryngologic organs].

The authors detail cytological picture of some benign tumors and pseudotumors encountered in otorhinolaryngological practice: oncocytoma, angioma, lipoma, soft fibroma, mixoma, paraganglioma, chondroma, angiogranuloma, cholesteatoma of the ear, protein pseudotumors (early-stage fibrinoid-hyaline nodes), polyps of the nose and ear, sarcoidosis. Cytological techniques made it possible to establish accurate diagnosis in 90% and 82% of cases with benign tumors and pseudotumors, respectively.

[Early diagnosis of urolithiasis, assessment of its activity and composition of lithogenic urine salts (Litos system)].

Until recently, the diagnosis of urolithiasis has been made by its complication--an apparent calculus in the kidney. We have discovered the phenomenon of pathological crystallization of urinary lithogenetic salts. Now, basing on this phenomenon we are able to make a diagnosis of urolithiasis at its preclinical stage, i.e. before the appearance of renal calculus, to control the course of urolith formation and to find out composition of the stone. We propose a complex of original techniques (Litos system) which provides pathogenetic diagnosis of urolithiasis.

[The phenomenon of the pathological crystallization of stone-forming urinary salts in urolithiasis].

It is known that when drying a drop of biological liquid under the action of osmotic forces acquires certain structure. The salts, which possess stronger osmotic potential, undergo crystallization in the center of the drop while protein components form the peripheral amorphic zone. In urolithiasis this process is impaired and crystallization of lithogenic salts occurs in the protein zone of a urine drop. This phenomenon discovered by the authors is designated as phenomenon of pathological crystallization of urine lithogenic salts. In nephrology and urology the above phenomenon may find application in diagnosis and control of urolithiasis activity, assessment of efficacy of the treatment conducted.
