[Microcirculatory bed of the rat small intestine after nerve reflex isolation].

Intravital biomicroscopy of small intestinal wall vessels was used in experiments on rats undergoing total neuroreflex isolation of the small intestine to study the time course of changes in the diameter of intramural arterioles and venules of the first, second, third and fourth grades. It was demonstrated that neuroreflex isolation of the small intestine is accompanied by long-term deranged coordination of the vascular bed. These shifts appeared to be the earliest and the most significant in the major part of resistive vessels, determining the hydrostatic pressure in the capillaries and shifts in histohematic barriers, as well as in specific functions of the small intestine.

[Permeability of histohematic barriers of the small intestine during perfusion with some preserving solutions].

The permeability changes in histohematic barriers of the isolated small intestine loops of laboratory white rats whose vessels were perfused with 0.85% sodium chloride, Ringer-Lock, Hanks and Collins-2 solutions as well as with hemodez and aminopeptide were studied. The amount of the fluid flowing off the vessels, perfusate penetration into the intestinal lumen and its transudation through the serous membrane were determined. It was concluded that the slightest disturbance in the small intestine histohematic barrier was observed during perfusion of the vessels with Collins-2 solution. The above method is recommended for testing the comparative characteristics of the preserving solution.

[Motor function of the gastrointestinal tract after extensive resection of the small intestine].

A functional and roentgenological investigation of the motor-evacuative function of the digestive tract has shown that resection of the small intestine with construction of an entero-enteroanastomosis is followed by a delayed passage of a contrast suspension in the remained portions of the small intestine. Further, there occurs a delay in evacuation of the contrast food suspension from the stomach in marked hypermotor dyskinesia of the small and large bowel. Following resection of the small intestine with an ileo-transverse anastomosis hypermotor peristalsis was observed. The passage of chymus from the small intestine into the colon lasted 1--2 hours. The cecal portion of the colon at the site of ileo-traansverse anastomosis was enlarged sacwise and turned into a reservoir for permanent stasis of the bowel content. The ileocecal portion regulating the chymus income into the colon plays a decisive role in intensity of compensatory-adaptive processes following resection of the small intestine.
