Reverse and double-reverse marketing for health care organizations.

Simple buy and sell relationships are no longer enough for health care organizations. Like other industries have done, they need to rethink and redesign their interactions with suppliers and customers in order to realize the full potential of those relationships. By establishing and managing partnerships with selected suppliers and customers, we can realize a whole new set of mutual benefits.

A customer relations strategy for health care employee relations.

The health care organization's own employees are among its most important assets. The growth of human resources management as a profession and its elevation to positions of higher importance in the organization demonstrates that the value of these assets is being recognized. Employees are also key customers. By using a customer relations strategy, the organization can increase the value it delivers to these vital customers. A five-step process is presented for employing the concepts and techniques of customer relations to the challenge of managing these assets.

The idea of the patient as partner incorporates a perspective that involves the patient in the care experience for explicit and important purposes. This article includes discussions of patient contributions; quality of care; cost implications; patient and provider satisfaction; and marketing, facilitation, and evaluation of a program that is designed to involve the patient in the care experience.
