[Values of wide-range option of 3D CT in the evaluation of vertebral foramen].

In the material of 32 patients with various pathologic conditions of vertebral foramina the value was analysed of spatial option 3D CT in correlation to biplanar sections and CT multiplanar reconstructions. A significant value was found in the comparative assessment of dimensions and the degree of narrowing of the openings at different levels, localisation of osteophytes and lateral hernias. Three-dimensional reconstruction of the internal surface and vertebral foramen volume was obtained.

[Angiographic patterns erroneously suggesting aneurysm of the anterior part of circulus arteriosus].

In the light of a material including 600 cerebral angiographies the authors analyse the incidence of diagnostic difficulties in cases of pseudoaneurysms of the brain resulting from superposition of vascular loops and kinks in the anterior portion of the circulus arteriosus. Methods of prevention of diagnostic errors by additional head positions during angiography are discussed.

[Choroid plexus in angiographic studies].

On the basis of analysis of 911 carotid angiographic investigations the authors describe the frequency of visualization of the choroid plexus in healthy subjects and in patients with vascular diseases. The topography of the choroid plexus is presented in accordance with the method of di Chiro on angiograms.

[Direct magnification technic as a method of further improving the diagnostic value of cerebral angiography].

The authors report an evaluation of own results obtained using a technique of direct magnification which is a trial of further improvement of the diagnostic possibilities of cerebral arteriography. In the light of personal experiences and available literature the authors express the view that introduction of this method, especially in connection with traction, will increase significantly the possibility of diagnosis of various pathological processes.

[Diagnosis of syringomyelia by using the method of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)].

On the basis of own observation from many years and a literature survey the authors discuss the diagnostic difficulties in syringomyelia in the light of the images obtained by conventional radiological techniques. The introduction of CT extended greatly the effectiveness of syringomyelia diagnosis. However, the best results in the diagnosis of the pathological lesions in syringomyelia are obtained using the technique of nuclear magnetic resonance.

[Diagnostic value of dynamic zonography in contrast studies of the meningeal sac].

In a material of 232 dynamic radiculosonographies their diagnostic value was analyzed in relation to the results of standard radiculography. Correct diagnosis of lumbar intervertebral disc prolapse was obtained in 61.6% of cases. The technique was found to be particularly useful in cases of abnormally shaped sacs.
