Gonococci were isolated from pharyngeal swabs in a woman suffering from genital gonorrhoea. She admitted orogenital contact at her most recent intercourse. A single dose treatment with spectinomycin cured the genital and pharyngeal infections.

In many cases gonorrhea is overlooked and not treated due to an unusual course of the disease. The longer this infection exists the greater is the danger of dissemination of the gonococci. Gonorrhea, if not diagnosed, may cause a series of local and general clinical manifestations, such as: the dermatitis-arthritis syndrome whose pathogenesis is not yet completely clarified: the Fitz-Hugh-Curtis syndrome which is often seen in females with chronic gonococcal adnexitis;gonococcal pharyngitis which nowadays occurs more often due to less conventional sexual practices of contemporary society; gonococcal conjunctivitis which represents the best known extragenital gonococcosis. This paper deals with the clinical manifestations and their treatment.
The manifestation of a mycotic infection can be prevented by exposition prophylaxis, disposition prophylaxis or chemoprophylaxis. The main statements are discussed. Protective measurements are helpful provided the instructions are followed continually. One must pay attention to one's personal hygiene. The environmental sanitation can be also important.

After duty in the open field a group of 58 soldiers were simultaneously affected by photodermatitis bullosa striata pratensis Oppenheim. Among others Heracleum sphondylium was found in the botanical inventory of the lower vegetation of the terrain in question. This plant is in our latitudes the most important trigger of phototoxic reactions of the skin.
