Changing industry demands new approach to information systems planning.
Today's information systems plan should support the strategic plan and capture the data necessary to make crucial management decisions. Patient information must be gathered, massaged, and reported on in an accurate and timely manner. Described here is the "top down" approach to information systems planning and why the old approach of wish lists is no longer feasible.
