During his stay in Mexico between 1836 and 1848, Dr Seweryn Gałezowski participated in all the activities of Academia de Medicina in Mexico as its member and president (1838 term of office). During this period he published 10 works and one critical review in the Spanish language Periodico de la Academia de Medicina de Mejico.
On 6th and 7th January 1837 in Mexico City Dr Seweryn Gałezowski took his professional examination. As the result of the examination and other presented documentation Dr S. Gałezowski was awarded "titulo medico" which allowed practising the medical profession both in Mexico City and the whole country. The Polish writings do mention the examination (the date is missing) but it is interpreted not only inaccurately but to say the least diversely as M.D. dissertation. The analysis of documents and archives materials in the present work established that Seweryn Gałezowski never obtained a new doctorate in Mexico and it uncovers also some otherwise unknown so far biographical data concerning Gałezowski.
