The reaction of folic acid on fracture healing was tested on the basis of 113 rabbits. In both cases, the only application of folic acid and the combination with amino acids, the results can be regarded positively. This is also true when we consider possible methodic faults.
The reaction of X-rays on the incapsulation of subcutaneous implantation of silastic prosthesis and further development of the capsules was studied in an experimental investigation on the basis of 14 rabbits. An influence of X-rays on type and thickness of the capsule as well as constrictive fibrosis was not ascertained. On account of our histological investigations we may say that the cause for a fibrous capsule formation is a similar process which causes Dupuytren's contracture.

Radiation ulcera are a permanent source of danger. Their treatment may be long and difficult. Surgical competence is the clue to treatment. Conservative treatment is justified only in the beginning and for short periods. The goal of surgery is excision of damaged tissue and plastic cover with healthy skin. The technique will have to be chosen according to findings and localisation.
Orientating experiments upon rats did not give any information about a specific effect of laser beams on wound healing. The same results were achieved by infra red photoradiation. Further research with histological and histochemical tests will be necessary.
A brief presentation of the plastic surgery of the female breast is made. Emphasis has been placed on clearly defined indications of operation as well as the selection of the most appropriate methods.

Diagnostic radiology is important for casualty surgery. Evaluation of the valuable radiological indications presupposes knowledge of and experience in tactical and technical procedures. Knowledge of the biochemical processes, in the area of a fracture is also essential. The most important criteria were briefly presented.

Polyorchidism is a rare anomaly of the testicles. Only about 60 cases have been described so far. A four-year-old boy who was admitted because of a maldescent of the left testicle was found at operation to have a third, atrophic testicle, which was removed. The various forms of polyorchidism, their embryological origins, other malformations and therapeutic measures are discussed.
