[Oligoamnios].
We have studied 34 cases of severe oligoamnios, and compared them with the published literature on the etiology, pathology diagnosis, complications and prognosis. We have mentioned the important role of ultrasound. The principal etiological features have been: intragrowth retardation, high maternal blood pressure, malformations of the fetal urinary tracts. We obtained an increased rate of: prematurity, small for dates newborns, congenital malformations, perinatal morbidity, as well as breech presentation and cesarean section.
