A 78-year-old male patient suffered a cardiac arrest in the waiting room of a dental surgery. He was successfully resuscitated and subsequently returned to complete his treatment. This would appear to be the first published report of such an emergency being successfully treated by a dental team in the community using advanced life support techniques.

A clinical assessment of two hundred and fifty patients undergoing light general anesthesia for conservation and/or minor oral surgery were given nalbuphine 5 mg as a supplement in order to assess its analgesic qualities. 18% of those patients needing extractions, and 20% of those needing conservation, required local anesthesia to complete the procedures.
