Analysis of the WHO Global Data Bank and Monitoring of Dental Diseases Prevention (tendencies of dental caries incidence in the world and in all regions of the former USSR) helped the author derive a formula for estimating the need in dentists. The number of dentists needed may be predicted for up to 15 years by assessing the tendencies in caries intensity in the population of a region.
