The paper reports a case of a rare neurological syndrome, hyperekplexia. A 46[correction of 38]-year-old man had secondary hyperekplexia in the presence of unusual associated clinical symptoms (periodical kinesiogenic dystonia and episodes of severe laryngospasms) and mild circulatory disorder in the brain trunk area.
The paper describes a clinical history of a rare neurological syndrome in an old man who had daily episodes of involuntary jumping for 25 years. The man started jumping in response to sudden loud sounds and other stimuli. The diagnosis and origin of this unusual syndrome are discussed.
The article describes a rare clinical case where a patient with right-side spastic torticollis developed stable left-side spastic torticollis following discontinuation of nacom. On the basis of clinico-physiological analysis of the given phenomenon and having compared their findings with the literature data the authors substantiate the involvement of the nigrostriatal systems of both hemispheres in the pathogenesis of torticollis and in the mechanisms of rotation inversion reported in the given disease for the first time.
