[Evidence of the factors Gm (1, 2, 4, 10, 12, 21) and Km (1, 3) as well as of the systems Gc and Hp in a random sample of Xhosa-Bantus, Southafrica (author's transl)].

The suspicion of an interchange of babies in two Portuguese families could not be dissipated in the first course of testing the following systems being considered: AB0, MNSs, Rhesus, Kell, Cellano, Duffy. Including further markers in an additional opinion, multiple father- and mother-exclusions could be made in the systems of ADA, GPT, EsD, and HLA. The suspicion thus showed to be justified and the children were given back to their natural parents.
Phenotypes of glyoxalase I (GLO I) were determined in 1,000 unrelated persons from Portugal giving the gene frequencies GLO1 = 0.463 and GLO2 = 0.537.
Phenotypes and gene frequencies of the erythrocyte enzyme adenosine deaminase were determined in samples from Schleswig-Holstein, Portugal, Brazil, and South Africa (Bantu-Xhosa and White). In the Portugal population the phenotypes ADA 5-1 and ADA 5-2 were found.
The contents of lead, cadmium, chromium, manganese, and zinc of 30 atherosclerotic aortas of deceased males between the age of 44 and 73 was analysed with flameless atomic absorption spectroscopy according to the localisation within the aorta (Arcus aortae, Aorta thoracilis, Aorta lumbalis). Furthermore, the metal concentration according to the degree of atherosclerosis was determined whereas, contrary to other authors, no significant relationship between metal content and grade of atherosclerosis was found. A correlation between heavy metal content of atherosclerotic and non-atherosclerotic aortas could not be ascertained statistically. Likewise, no significant relationship between calcium concentration and content of heavy metals was verified.
Gene frequencies for enzyme polymorphisms in the acP, ADA, AK, EsD, 6-PGD, and PGM1 systems were determined by a random sample (n = 281-556-575) Turks living in Lübeck. The results were compared with those of a parallel inquiry on Germans from Lübeck. The following gene frequencies were detected: (table: see text).
The responsibility or providing medical care is not a lex special for the dentist because he is more qualified to offer assistance due to his status as a licensed dentist and his specialized knowledge. This involves several obligations. He must be personally convinced of the diagnosis and the necessity of treatment. he therefore cannot rely on information from assistants or laypersons. By extending temporal and spatial claims to the concept of accident in the medical area, the decisions of the Federal High Court have tended to develop 330 c StGB to a certain extent as a collective offense for those cases where malpractice cannot be demonstrated.

1251 blood samples of non-related human beings coming from the area of Lübeck have been examined. Frequencies of the esterase D allel were EsD1 = 0.9001 and EsD2 = 0.0999.
The contents of lead, cadmium, chromium, manganese and zinc of 30 non arteriosklerotic aortas of deceased males between the age of 16 and 53 was analysed with flameless atomic absorption spectroscopy according to the specific localisation within the artery. An interdependence between the metal concentration and the localisation could not be ascertained statistically, although in the individual cases of the examined sections considerable differences in the metal concentration have been determined. No relation between the age of the deceased and the contents of the metal in the aortas was found. Likewise not significant relationship between the calcium and the concentration of heavy metal was verified.
A 57-year-old woman showed somnolence, extreme stiffness of the neck and atypical CSF findings which led to her death within a few days. During legacy controversy the possibility of poisoning was considered. The post mortem, pathological and toxological examinations of the exhumed corpse permitted the diagnosis of reticulum cell sarcoma 16 months after death. Such a diagnosis 16 months after death has, to our knowledge, not previously been reported.
Report on the legal basis of organ transplantation in Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and Finland. Reference is made to the legal uncertainty in the Federal Republic of Western Germany. The Federation probably has no legislative competence for an adequate transplantation law. Amendments of the xi 168 StGB suggested by individual Federal States are discussed. The synopsis of the existing legal rules in the above mentioned countries suggests the proposal of general legal principles which should guarantee 1. the best medical care in transplantation medicine especially in renal explantates 2. a legal protection for the physician 3. a protection for personal rights of the donor. The author feels that the rights of those persons who provide for the corpses should be superceded by these considerations.
