Dynamic scintigraphy with high temporal resolution. Phase dynamic studies of rapid periodical processes.

The theory and general method of construction of the phase dynamic studies of rapid periodical processes with high temporal resolution is described briefly. Moreover, problems are discussed that are associated with the introduction of external pulses into dynamic studies in LIST-mode, the spatial and temporal reconstruction from LIST-mode, the computer's construction of phase dynamic studies, the selection of correct cycles, the creation of phase histograms and processing of the phase studies. The method is illustrated by a general program LIST leads to PHASE DYNAM. STUDY created for Clincom apparatus. In addition to the general method, there is mentioned here the modification of the simplified procedure--a well-known EKG-gated method. Some aspects of the method are documented by the results of phantom measurement and clinical examinations.

[Comparison between a shortened TRH-TSH test and thyroid suppression test in the diagnosis of hyperthyroidosis].

In a selected group of fifty-one persons suspected to be hyperthyroid the comparison between a shortened variant of TRH-TSH stimulation test and thyroid suppression test was made. In patients whose other functional tests gave no univocal results, the agreement between suppressibility of radioiodine uptake and TSH response in 90,2% of cases could be established. High degree of correlation between both parameters (coefficient V = 0.791) permits to regard these tests as practically equivaluablein giving evidence of dysregulation between pituitary and thyroid gland. In persons with TSH-dependent thyroid function, however, no correlation between numerical values of radioiodine uptake and TSH concentrations after stimulations was found.

[Studies of hepatobiliary function with a scintillation camera and electronic data processing)].

The authors performed the sequential scintigraphy after intravenous application of 131I-BSP using the scintillation camera. During the first 60 minutes the pictures of the liver and of the mesogastrium were recorded in one-minute intervals on the digital magnetic tape. The following scintigrams were then recorded after 3 and 24 hours after the injection. Choosing the region of interest the authors noted the histograms above the liver and above the mesogastrium, evaluated then the proportion of impulse rate above the liver and mesogastrium in measured intervals and obtained using the digital computer the velocity coefficient of the radioactivity accumulation in the liver as liver chromoexcretive function parameter. The results were compared with the standard test of the 45-minutes retention of the BSP, with the analysis of the curve measured above the temporal region, with the clinical status as well as with the results of other auxiliary examination methods. According to the first experiences gained when examining 91 individuals the described method proves to be very useful.
