Specific effect of epidermal growth factor immobilized on wound coating with soluble collagen on healing of experimental wounds.

Electron-microscopy and autoradiography of granulation tissue in wounds showed that bioactive coating with epidermal growth factor activates functional and proliferative processes in vascular cells (endotheliocytes and pericytes) and fibroblasts and increases the number of cell-to-cell contacts on days 2-3 of therapy. Pronounced activation of proliferative processes resulted in early differentiation of fibroblast cells (on days 3-4) and rapid epithelialization of the wound.

[The dynamics of the extinction of brain cellular biosynthesis at different times after death].

The paper presents experimental data on RNA synthesis in neuronal, glial, endothelial cells of a dying organism. Under certain conditions it is possible to define labelled cells in the majority of the brain cells within post-death hours 1-4. This fact proves that genome is still functioning. Endothelial cells possess higher vital capacity. CNS neurons are capable of synthesizing RNA within the period of up to 4 hours after death of the organism.

[An electron microscopic radioautographic study of the viability of human cells after death. The postmortem activation of RNA synthesis in neutrophils].

RNA synthesis in human neutrophils isolated from blood 2.5-67 hours after death of patients was studied by means of light and electron microscopy radioautography. The rate of RNA synthesis in neutrophils isolated from blood of cadavers was higher in comparison with the same parameter in neutrophils isolated from survivor's blood. The significance of this observation for resuscitation and transplantology is discussed.

[Clinical aspects and pathogenesis of Tolosa-Hunt syndrome].

The authors describe two cases of the Tolosa-Hunt syndrome and come to the conclusion that the pathological process in the disease (largely in the meninges) may also involve other sites located distantly from the cavernous sinus. The genesis of this syndrome appears to be largely infectious-allergic in nature.
