Clinicomorphological analysis of 8 necropsies of primary hemochromatosis permitted recognizing 2 main versions of the disease course: with a primary damage to the liver and pancreas and with a primary injury to the heart, with the latter version being encountered in patients of a younger age and running a more malignant course. The thanatogenesis of patients with hemochromatosis may be linked with acute renal failure.

An observation of a congenital dysontogenetic disease--neurocutaneous melanoblastosis in a 1-year 9-month-old girl is described. The condition was characterized by multiple skin nevi and infiltration of meninges and brain matter with pigment-forming cells. The death occurred from brain damage.

Histochemical, morphological and ultrastructural studies of 208 cases of carcinoma of various organs (stomach, colon, lung, mammary gland, bladder, thyroid) and 159 cases of precancerous or risk disease of these organs are given. The degree and properties of local immune reactions in precancer, incipient and advanced carcinoma are compared. The degree of the epithelium and stroma infiltration with the immunocompetent cells as well as the cell composition of the infiltrate vary at different stages of tumour development and depending on its histological structure. Cytotoxic effect of the immunocompetent cells on the tumour cells is revealed, this effect decreasing in advanced carcinoma.
Thirty-five postmortem cases of non-occlusive ischemia of the intestine are studied. Five groups are distinguished on the basis of leading pathogenetic factors. Angiospasm and alterations of the blood rheological properties are the main mechanisms in the development of non-occlusive intestinal ischemia, the morphological features of which are segmental necroses and more frequent localization in the ileum. Clinico-morphological analyses and a thorough bacteriological examination are necessary for the differential diagnosis of non-occlusive intestinal ischemia, enteritis and colitis.
Ninety cases of colon precancer and cancer were examined histologically, histochemically and morphometrically from the viewpoint of cell immune reactions of local connective tissue and regional lymph nodes. It is found that the intensity of mutual cell responses of local connective tissue, colon lymph follicles and regional lymph nodes increases in parallel with the malignization of adenomatous polyps and villous adenomata, reaches a peak in the incipient carcinoma and rapidly decreases when the invasive growth starts. The correlation between the plasma cells and lymphoid cells changes, the relative density of the latter is the greatest in the incipient carcinoma. The data obtained may be used for the incipient carcinoma diagnosis and for prognosis.

Light microscopy, immunohistochemical examinations and electron microscopy of kidney biopsies showed the different localization of immune complexes in the glomeruli (subepithelial, intramembraneous, subendothelial, and mesangial immune complexes) and various forms of materialization of their harmful effect (induction of immune inflammation or immunosuppression) to be determined by the involvement in phagocytosis and reparation reactions of either podocytes or mesangial and endothelial cells and also hematogenous elements. Therefore, podocyte, mesangioendothelial and podocyte-mesangioendothelial ways of morphogenesis of immunocoplex glomerulonephritis may be distinguished. Each of them is associated with the development of certain clinico-morphological forms of immunocomplex glomerulonephritis which should be considered as distinct entities.
The results of treatment of 404 patient with benign bone tumors are analysed, in 232 of them tumors being of osteogenic origin and in 172--of cartilaginous one. 382 patients were subjected to surgery. Late results of the treatment were studied in 313 (77%) patients. The recovery was noted in 297 (94.9%) patients, the recurrence--in 16 (5.1%). Good results were gained due to the active dispensary control of the patients till their complete cure that prevented late diagnosis of the recurrence.
