Two patients with acute appendicitis are discussed. On histologic examination both were found to have tuberculosis associated with pyogenic infection. Subsequent investigations failed to reveal tuberculous lesions elsewhere in the body. Both patients have responded well to appendectomy and antituberculous drug therapy.

In a prospective search to study the occurrence of primary biliary cirrhosis, only one patient with this disease was encountered during the last six years. This is also the first documented case of primary biliary cirrhosis from the Indian subcontinent.

Leiomyomas are the most common benign tumors of the esophagus. However, esophageal leiomyomatosis is a rare pathologic entity that has received little attention in the radiologic literature. We present a case of esophageal leiomyomatosis with imaging features on barium swallow and computed tomography (CT).
