[Unbalanced pelvic girdle in motor disability of cerebral origin. Success and limitations of adductor muscle tenotomy].

One hundred and fifty eight children with an unbalanced pelvis were reviewed. All suffered from cerebral palsy and were treated by tenotomy of the adductor muscles. The aims were: 1 - To improve the position of the femoral head. For this purpose, the best effects were obtained before the age of 4 so that acetabular dysplasia was prevented and the need for pelvic osteotomy, which is often hazardous in this type of patient, avoided. 2 - To achieve better balance of the pelvic girdle. Adductor tenotomy was often associated with tenotomy of the ilio-tibial tract or with division of the costo-iliac or ilio-lumbar muscles with posterior radiculotomies.

Hypolipemic profile of plafibride in a model of experimental atherosclerosis.

The direct correlation between high circulating lipidic levels and the risk of suffering from atherosclerosis, together with the modification of different lipoproteic fractions in the development of this disease, has led us to study the characteristics of the hypolipemic effect of Plafibride. Experiments were carried out on a model of experimental arteriosclerosis in rats. The drug was administered at four dosage levels during induction of arteriosclerosis in order to establish a possible dose-effect relationship. Evaluation of the therapeutic activity was analyzed against the atherosclerotic control group. We found a marked hypolipemic activity and a strong increase in HDL-cholesterol, which reached normal levels. Consequently, Plafibride presents a profile of activity which can be considered suitable in the treatment of atherosclerosis.

[Plasma prolactin, progestrone and oestradiol during labour and postpartum (author's transl)].

The changes in the levels of plasma prolactin, progesterone and oestradiol were studied in 20 women during labour and immediately after delivery. The study of these levels shows that there is a mechanism for inhibiting the galactopoietic action of prolactin. Lifting this inhibition allows the milk to come in. This inhibition is probably due to circulating steroids, but this study does not allow us to differentiate clearly between the respective roles of oestradiol and progesterone, chiefly because of their short half-life.

Synthesis and biological evaluation of new diisocyanide- and triisocyanide-99mTc complexes.

This paper describes the synthesis of four new polyisocyanides (three diisocyanides and one triisocyanide). The complexation of 99mTc with these ligands is also studied through chromatography and revealed the formation of hexacoordinated 99mTc+1 complexes. Finally, biodistributions of these complexes in mice are given and compared. Heart captations are lower than the ones with [99mTc(MIBI)6]+ but remain constant and a satisfactory lungs clearance, probably due to the metabolization of the ligands, is observed.
