We reported a case of spontaneous uterine rupture in the first trimester of a woman who had had a traditional myomectomy operation 2.5 years earlier. Although uterine rupture is very rare in early pregnancy, it should be taken into consideration--in the differential diagnosis of acute abdomen--in all terms of pregnancy, especially when a predisposing factor exists.
The purpose of the present investigation was to determine the relationship between the reproducibility of soft tissue contours by three different functional impression techniques and four dentists for mandibular distal-extension removable partial dentures. The selected functional impression methods were Lejoyeux, Rouot and McLean techniques. A mucostatic impression technique was used for the control group. To compare and measure the degree of tissue displacement, a three-dimensional coordinate measuring system was used. The differences in vertical displacement of soft tissue among the operators were statistically determined for each impression technique used. Lejoyeux technique produced the least variation in tissue displacement followed respectively by McLean, mucostatic and Rouot methods.
The present study explored the constructs of sociotropy and autonomy with a group of Turkish depressed inpatients, who were administered the Beck Depression Inventory, the Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale, the Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire, and the Sociotropy-Autonomy Scale. A comparison group of students from three SES levels also were included in the study. Comparisons were made on the scale scores among the non-dysphoric students, the dysphoric students, and the depressed patients. The results seem to support the relationship of sociotropy with other depression measures in both samples. However, several problems were encountered with the construct autonomy as it is conceptualized in the Sociotropy-Autonomy Scale.

Mixing of certain types of dental materials may produce pulpal injury due to a series of chemical reactions giving way to an exothermic reaction. Three different dental cements; zinc phosphate, polycarboxilate and glass ionomer cements which may increase the intrapulpal temperature were investigated in the present study. The cements were mixed according to the manufacturers' instructions in one group, the liquid and powder ratios were increased by one portion in the other two groups. The intrapulpal temperature changed between 1.32-4.54 degrees C among the three test groups. The intrapulpal temperature rise was markedly influenced when the amount of powder and liquid ratios were changed.
Conventional matrix bands are inappropriate for restoring extensively damaged teeth because of inadequate contact areas, inconsistent gingival margins, and undefined occlusal relationships. An extraoral matrix can be fabricated before intraoral reconstruction of the tooth.
