[Duodenal diverticulosis].

The problem of duodenal diverticuli is discussed. The best therapy is reviewed and a personal series compared with those of other workers. In most cases, the medical approach appears preferable, surgery being reserved exclusively for variously complicated cases.

[Cystic ureteritis].

A case of cystic ureteritis associated with pyelo-ureteral calculosis is presented. A survey is made of the subject and nephroureterectomy is recommended in unilateral forms.

[Minor pancreatitis after a Billroth II gastric resection for gastroduodenal ulcer].

Pancreatic complications arising after 117 Billroth II gastric resections carried out between 1976 and 1980 are evaluated. Changes in blood and urinary amylase were noted in 35% of cases. A distinction is drawn between minor forms (MPOP), and major forms (APOP), with an incidence of 34% and 1% respectively. Lastly, the question of aetiopathogenesis is discussed, with particular reference to the causal factors observed on each occasion.

Adult↗

[Biliary peritonitis without perforation].

The extreme rarity of this condition is shown and its anatomopathological and clinical features described. Conclusive diagnosis is impossible to formulate preoperatively and emergency surgery is necessary to avoid complications which are always serious in biliary peritonitis. Finally the observed clinical case is described.

[Various epidemiological data on breast cancer in the north-west Canavese area].

A retrospective epidemiological investigation has been conducted on nipple cancer cases observed over the past 10 years in the hospital of Castellamonte and Cuorgné. The high percentage of advanced cases of breast cancer encountered indicates the need for facilities (accurate, wide-ranging information, a tracer unit etc.) to provide early and therefore useful treatment of breast cancer in the area in question.
