[Nursing relevance of the bases of the concept of Salutogenesis].

The objectives of nursing are closely tied with the meaning of health. This means for the development of nursing science to come to an understanding of new concepts of health which have been developed in health sciences recently. Therefore the model of Salutogenese is presented. The author discusses the key concepts like the health-disease-continuum, the sense of coherence and the generalized resistance resources in regard to relevance for nursing in theory and practise.

[Importance of the health sciences for nursing].

The studies of Public Health (or Health Sciences) and theoretical nursing are two relatively recent sciences in Germany. I will analyse how these two disciplines could interact and benefit from each other. My analysis will focus on three different levels: 1. The theorectical level which deals with certain central concepts of both sciences like man, environment, health, resources. 2. The domains of action like health promotion in direct nursing, in a hospital and in a community. 3. The level of strategies of action, where it is important to define combined strategies for practical ends. On these three levels common contents are evident. That is why I will propose to integrate the studies of Public Health and Nursing much more than it has been done in the past.
