Mucosal island flaps on submucous pedicles.
For intraoral reconstruction the author uses island flaps of labial or buccal mucosa vascularized through a randomly-chosen submucous pedicle. The procedure for obtaining this flap is simple; the flaps are safe and they successfully close oronasal communications and defects of the buccal mucosa.
