[Observation on therapeutic effects of scraping therapy and warming acupuncture-moxibustion on 50 cases of fasciitis of back muscles].

OBJECTIVE: To search for the best method for treatment of fasciitis of back muscles. METHODS: One hundred cases of fasciitis of back muscles were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group of 50 cases were treated with scraping and warming acupuncture and moxibustion at Fengmen (BL 12), Feishu (BL 13), Quyuan (SI 13), Bingfeng (SI 12), Jiafeng, local pressure pain points, and cord-like node; and the control group of 50 cases with simple acupuncture. RESULTS: In the treatment group, 40 cases were cured and 10 cases improved with a total effective rate of 100.0%; in the control group, 26 cases were cured and 16 cases improved, 8 cases were ineffective with a total effective rate of 84.0%. The treatment group in improvement of pressure pain and pain was better than the control group, with scores significantly decreased (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Scraping therapy and warming acup-moxibustion have obvious effect on fasciitis of back muscles, and it is a better therapy for this disease.

Dynamic balancing of dual-rotor system with very little rotating speed difference.

Unbalanced vibration in dual-rotor rotating machinery was studied with numerical simulations and experiments. A new method is proposed to separate vibration signals of inner and outer rotors for a system with very little difference in rotating speeds. Magnitudes and phase values of unbalance defects can be obtained directly by sampling the vibration signal synchronized with reference signal. The balancing process is completed by the reciprocity influence coefficients of inner and outer rotors method. Results showed the advantage of such method for a dual-rotor system as compared with conventional balancing.

Novel boundary element method for resolving plate bending problems.

This paper discusses the application of the boundary contour method for resolving plate bending problems. The exploitation of the integrand divergence free property of the plate bending boundary integral equation based on the Kirchhoff hypothesis and a very useful application of Stokes' Theorem are presented to convert surface integrals on boundary elements to the computation of bending potential functions on the discretized boundary points, even for curved surface elements of arbitrary shape. Singularity and treatment of the discontinued corner point are not needed at all. The evaluation of the physics variant at internal points is also shown in this article. Numerical results are presented for some plate bending problems and compared against analytical and previous solutions.
