[Magnetic resonance in the diagnosis of bladder pheochromocytoma].

OBJECTIVE: The present study describes the advantages of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of bladder pheochromocytoma. METHODS/RESULTS: A case of bladder pheochromocytoma is described, with special reference to the diagnostic aspects and the usefulness of MRI in the evaluation of patients with this condition. CONCLUSIONS: Bladder pheochromocytoma is a rare tumor type. Since most of these are catecholamine-producing lesions, early diagnosis is warranted to avoid the severe complication of hypertensive episodes that may arise from unnecessary maneuvers. MRI is the diagnostic imaging method of choice in those cases with a clinical and analytical suspicion of pheochromocytoma.

[Multilocular renal cyst].

A case of multilocular renal cyst in a 37-year-old patient is presented, which met all of the diagnostic criteria described by Powell (1951) and Boggs and Kimmelstiel (1956). The frequency of renal hydatid cyst observed in our setting warrants differential diagnosis from this disease entity. Conservative surgery is advocated as treatment.

[Primary meningioma of the nose and the paranasal sinus].

Primary extracranial and extraspinal meningiomas are not very common, less than 1% out of meningiomas and with a pathogeny not well defined. Less than 60 cases have been described so far. The histopathological diagnosis can be really difficult. All the cases published were diagnosed after an anatomopathological study. We reviewed all publications about these tumors, which belong to the group of those rare neoplasms the otorhinolaryngologist must have in mind whenever he faces a paranasal sinus neoformation.

[Post-traumatic arteriovenous fistula: apropos of 4 cases].

Postraumatic arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) usually occur after traumatisms or surgical procedures. A clinic hemodynamic repercussion, or even a cardiac failure, can be caused by them. AVF diagnosis is mainly made angiographic study. In the present works we study different "Diagnosis by Images" methods (i.e.: CT, echography, MNR, angiography, gammagraphy, etc.) used in AVF diagnosis. Also, a Bibliographic Review of such disease was made. We present four cases reports with postraumatic arteriovenous fistulas; two were located in extremities (right upper limb and left lower limb, respectively) and the other two were abdominal (left reno-renal and right renocava).
