Sexually related recurrent urinary tract infections were caused by a method of contraception, the diaphragm, in 74 per cent of the women in this study. Urodynamic studies demonstrated severe alteration in urinary flow and elevation of the bladder neck angles. By altering the fit of the diaphragm, or changing to another form of birth control, 96 per cent of these women were infection-free at one year without antibiotic suppression.

The simple maneuver of inverting the penis into the perineum during urethral sleeve resection and urethroplasty permits direct access to the penile suspensory ligament. Division of the ligament can then be performed under direct vision with good hemostatic control.

Current methods to evaluate renovascular hypertension in the pediatric population often requires a general anesthetic. Saralasin, an angiotensin II competitive inhibitor, is a safe, noninvasive technique which can be utilized at the bedside in a salt-depleted child off antihypertensive medication. Two illustrative cases are presented.
A case of an exquisitely painful squamous cell carcinoma of the bladder is reported. The pain progressed and rectal obstruction developed during palliative radiotherapy. With less than 7 days of infusion chemotherapy the patient became totally free of pain, with subjective and objective relief of the rectal obstruction (avoiding colostomy).
The incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding secondary to aortoenteric fistula has increased in recent years consequent to more frequent aortic reconstructive procedures. It is necessary to approach any such patient with this diagnostic consideration in mind, since early specific therapy may decrease the mortality. In this setting, there is usually sufficient time available to perform definitive tests to establish the correct diagnosis. We report a 37-year-old patient in whom aortoenteric fistula developed following a renal artery bypass graft.
