[Autotransfusion of ultraviolet-irradiated blood in destructive pneumonia of young children].

Analysis of the results of clinicoimmunological study of the use of autotransfusion of blood treated by ultraviolet irradiation (ABUVI) in infants with acute purulent destructive pneumonia (APDP) revealed that imbalance of cellular and humoral immunity factors was the main factor determining the severity of the disease. ABUVI is an effective measure for correcting the immune response of the child's organism to the bacterial aggression through adequate production of monocytic phagocytes and plasma cells of the blood. It also influences the completeness of humoral immunity and reduction of T-lymphocyte deficiency in the acute phase of the disease. ABUVI raises the efficacy of complex treatment of toxicoseptic forms of APDR, reduces 1.7-fold the terms of treatment, and reduces considerably the mortality rate of this disease in young children.

Acute Disease

[Circadian rhythm of changes in phospholipids and activity of non-specific phosphomonoesterases in rat liver].

The circadian rhythm of the content of total and individual phospholipids and the activity of alkaline and acid phosphatases was revealed in the liver of 130 white rats by the biochemical and histochemical methods. The concentration of phospholipids and enzymatic activity rise during the day time (9 a.m. - 15 p.m.). The results obtained suggest a good agreement between the structural and metabolic features of the liver during its maximal functional activity.

Acid Phosphatase

[Mathematical support of epidemiological research in rheumatic diseases].

Software for data processing collected in the course of epidemiologic investigations of rheumatic diseases is developed. It is capable of determining an optimal set of automated devices in terms of informative and cost factors. Experimental use of an automated prototype intended to detect patients suffering from rheumatic diseases has shown rather high efficiency of decision rules developed by means of the software.
