Research grants and you: perfect together.
A variety of organizations support nursing research related to SCI nursing practice. Information and guidelines for submitting proposals are available via traditional modes (e.g., publications) and more recently via electronic modes (e.g., the Internet). Table 1 summarizes the Web site addresses for the organizations reviewed. Successful grant approval is not dependent on four leaf clovers or lucky charms alone. Careful planning, attention to details, and refinement and "polishing" of drafts are essential for success. Grant proposals may be a challenging task, but are definitely worth the time and effort expended.
