By the making of training models for the periodontal education, it is possible not only to raise diagnostic parameters but also to train the handling of hand instruments as well as the accomplishment of surgical measures. The use of this models provides a prerequisite for a good professional education. Thereby, the level of education is raised markedly. Thus, this practice is recommended for other universities.

The authors describe a method of immediate prosthetic care by means of a model-cast denture. It is mainly indicated for periodontally diseased dentitions which will thus be treated immediately, optimally and rationally.

The authors deal with the advantages and disadvantages of the direct and the indirect method of inlay making and describe the precision casting technique for inlays and bridges. Furthermore, they present the telescopic tray which has been developed in the Rostock Clinic. This tray permits to apply the impression material under increased pressure. The use of the compound embedding material and dental alloys indicated allows to obtain good treatment results in a rational manner.
