The authors describe their own method of proving group properties from hair and nails by means of mixed aglutination using magnesium chloride. This method--as far as is known from literature --does not seem to have been used yet.
The authors present a method for demonstrating alpha -1- fetoprotein in neonatal blood spots. The results as obtained with the method used since 1973 are referred to as good. The method can be regarded as highly specific if the respective person can be ruled out to have, in particular, hepatic carcinoma. The specificity can be supported by a simultaneous demonstration of fetal haemoglobin. The positive result of the two methods permits to conclude that the blood examined originated from a fetus or a neonate, thus contributing to the resolution of some cases of illegal interruption of pregnancy or murder of a neonate.

The results are presented of investigations concerning the potassium-sodium ratio in the human myocardium under ischaemia in correlation with macroreaction to dehydrogenases. The values found, though approaching those of the familiar experimental results, can hardly be regarded as reliable in diagnosing early ischaemic changes in autopsy material since they are affected by post-mortem changes.

The authors wanted to demonstrate in their present paper that forensic medicine and its modern methods can help to elucidate some historical findings not only as regards mechanisms of injury but in the first member's of the dynasty of Premysl also by evidence of group appurtenance using the two-phase and two-circle system.
